Eric Ward was born in St Ives, Cornwall in 1945, where he has lived most of his life. He worked as a fisherman after leaving school, later becoming St Ives Harbour Master. He started painting in 1987 at the St Ives School of Painting. Since then his work has been shown widely and he has expanded into etching. He is a member of Chelsea Arts Club and St Ives Society of Artists.

Eric Ward’s paintings and etchings portray timeless imagery; the female figure, warm interiors and atmospheric Cornish harbour scenes appear throughout his work. Eric’s work is widely collected and held in many private collections.
